The Motorola i576 was designed for communication and comes with Motorola’s familiar PTT feature. Toggling basic communication functions like volume control and its Push to talk (PTT) is located at the left side of the phone. Speakerphone switch is located at the top of the phone beside its antennae. This layout makes for a convenient way of communicating with the phone closed and gives a feeling of using two way radios instead of a cellphone interface.

Internal display supports 64,000 colors. It is again apparent that the Motorola i576 was built for basic communications and functions. Navigating the phone is quick and easy and menu and icon layout is simple and provides for easy access. Key input for messaging is good. Keys are adequately spaced and feedback is good with its tactile feature. Keys are raised and a backlight provides a good contrast for making calls and texting in low light conditions.

Basic features include support for MMS and SMS messaging, calendar, voice recorder, notepad, speakerphones and a vibrate mode. Keeping in touch with your friends is easy with the Motorola i576. Phonebook can store up to 600 contacts. The phonebook gives an option of giving your contacts a deeper level of detail. Contact information can be assigned 6 phone numbers, email address, URL and Direct Connect Number.

Enhanced communications features include Bluetooth connectivity. Voice dialing and call forwarding options also makes the Motorola i576 a serious communication device. The Motorola i576 also comes with all the communication options offered by Nextel phones. Standard features include Group Connect (for communicating with 20 others via PTT), International Direct Connect and Direct Connect (for out of network PTT communications).
