Sprint Nextel i335 by Motorola
Nextel i335 by Motorola Review
The Motorola i335 combines
the usual Nextel structure comes with a new twist in design. In
fact, this phone is one of the thinnest Nextel mobile phone available
in the market. However, it does not come with a camera, but has
the usual PTT or push-to-talk services from Nextel.
The Motorola i335 is
designed to be sturdy, tough and durable. Surprisingly, the twist
is it comes in a candy bar design. It may not be classy but is simple
and come with some black and silver touches. Phone interface is
glossy and comes light barely 4 ounces in weight.
The Motorola i335’s
display like other Nextel handsets is not that sharp and vibrant. Few
exceptions include the Nextel i580. Measuring 1.5 inches, the
display is dim and has low resolutions so don’t expect very sharp
photos and graphics. The multipage menu system is somewhat dated.
Options for toggling the display includes backlight time and text size
control.
The keys and navigation
array are rubbery and very tactile making it easy to use. Controls
are not cramped making messaging and voice calls easy even for big stubby
fingers. The keypad displays large numbers and a bright backlight provides
good contrast even at low light settings. The four-way toggle
in the navigation array serves as directional buttons and could be programmed
to serve as shortcuts for applications.
Located at the left
spine of the phone are the volume rocker, Direct Connect button, 2.5
mm headset jack, and a mini-USB port. The speakers are curiously
located at the bottom end. Surprisingly, the Motorola i335 does not
come with a camera.
You can store up to
600 contacts with the phone book. Each contact stores 7 phone
numbers, one e-mail address, Direct Connect number, Talkgroup number,
and IP address. Other basic features include vibrate mode, text
and MMS, voice recorder, calendar, speakerphone, notepad, call forwarding,
and call timers.
Voice dialing and Bluetooth
features are also included. Unlimited communications could be done through
2 way radio features. Direct Connect service is capable of working within
a 6 mile radius. There is also Group Connect which enables you
to talk with up to 20 people via PTT.
Wallpapers, alert sounds,
and phone themes can be customized or changed for a more personal touch.
You can download more wallpapers, alert sounds and themes through the
wireless Web browsers via WAP 2.0. This phone also has the GPS
support.
The Motorola i335 is
dual band phone. Call quality is quite impressive and voice output is
clear and crisp. Voices came loud and clear enough for communicating
even at noisy environments. At the other end of the line, voice quality
was also good. The speakerphone made communications even better and
did not show any problems. Battery life was rated at 3 hours talk time
and standby time came at 5 days.
The Motorola i335 is a rugged phone designed for dependable communications. This handset was built for people who are looking for function rather than fashion in a cell phone. The Motorola i335 was built to be simple and practical, decent not showy, and most of all, great call quality.
