LG enV3 Review

One of the best QWERTY phones in the market today, the LG env3 comes in loaded with some great and standard features to boot. For previous users of the earlier models, the phone presents a great leap and has certainly improved in areas such as call quality and email messaging.

The LG env3 at first glance looks like a typical phone in a candy bar form. Upon closer inspection however the phone folds out to display a full QWERTY keyboard and a huge display. Calls can easily be made in its compact form and the large numeric keypad helps in making and receiving calls easier. For texting and messaging, folding out the phone reveals the full keypad and larger display. The full keyboard can come in handy for gaming applications and makes taking control of the game a lot easier.

An area where we see a huge improvement is the introduction of a 3 Megapixel camera that comes equipped with a flash. Image capture is diverse allowing for 6 different resolutions. Picture and image quality could easily modified by adjusting settings. It comes with a self-timer option and four special shot modes. What particularly sets it apart is its smile capture mode. This mode allows a shot to be taken automatically once a person smiles. Now this is one cool feature we see only in stand alone digital cameras and is certainly a great bonus.

Photo quality needs much to be desired however, good lightning can improve the picture quality and outdoor photos are a bit blurry. This phone also comes equipped with a video capture capability. Record 30 sec clips for mobile messages or the full hour option for capturing your favorite moments. Video image is sub par but for posting in your social networks this could prove to be an invaluable addition.

Reception with the LG phone was superb at even remote locations. Carrier service was available even for hard to reach sites and locations. Sound quality is great and voice calls are clear and sharp with minimal background clutter. Speakerphone is functional as voice quality does not suffer from using the external speakers.

The phones messaging system features an enhanced MMS and SMS interface. SMS and MMS messaging are clear and simple with better user interface and appearance. The LG env3 comes with three email options. User’s have the option of choosing Mobile Email, Corporate Email or Mobile Web Mail. The phone supports all major email clients including Gmail messaging.

The LG boasts functionality and a decent multi-media capability. Although the multi-media features do not stand out from its rivals, the phone can certainly help you pass out those long idle hours. With a microSD card slot, Bluetooth support, great external speakers and music downloads the phone has made up ground for its shortcomings.

Call quality and a long battery life are essential and are the basic needs for cellular communications. The LG env3 comes out great in both departments and is a very solid and dependable phone to bring along. Navigating the phone is easy as button placement is spaced out and quick to find.

The LG env3 is a solid and dependable package. The main pitfall however is the less than stellar performance when you begin web browsing or try to go online. But its shortcomings however are more than made up in its high battery life and competitive price bundled with great features and products. Build quality is great and phone has a solid feel. This is a mid-entry phone and has provides good quality for a lesser price.
