LG Neon TE365 Review

The LG Neon is a slider phone which pops to display a full QWERTY keyboard. Like all QWERTY handsets, the phone was designed for composing quick messages and mobile messaging. The front panel is simple with a few keys for easy call navigation and the phones display. The display supports limited touchscreen capability. Toggling the screen is limited to making phone calls.

Phone design is fresh, smooth curves and simple lines make up the phones gorgeous form. The neon comes light and wide enough to give a good grip. The phone is slim and slipping it in your pocket is easy. Its glossy black finish makes the phone shout quality and chic.

Display is through a 2.4 inch screen with a 262,000 depth resolution. Images are clearly viewed and text input is bright and crisp. Display options include backlight timer, messaging font size, clock view and menu presentation.

The only touscscreen application is the phone dial. Dial the numbers by tapping the corresponding numbers displayed on the screen. The phone comes short with its touchscreen feature as navigation and other applications are done through the keypad.

Slide the phone and reveal the phones QWERTY keyboard. Screen display automatically adjusts to landscape or portrait mode depending on how the phone is viewed. Keyboard layout is different with three rows instead of the usual four. Keys however are amply spaced and text input is accurate. The keys are raised for easy access and simple push is needed to input desired key.

Advanced messaging features include support for major messaging clients like AIM, Yahoo, AOL and Windows Live Mail. Standard messaging services like MMS and SMS are included. Sending messages through simple taps makes this a truly text friendly phone.

Multimedia experience is basic. With simple music player capabilities and music downloads through EDGE technology. Download time was unusually long and music transfer is best done through the phones memory card. Internal phone memory is limited to 14 Mb but external microSD cards can be extended upto 4Gig. This could prove useful as you can store more music track for hours of listening on those long idle hours.

Camera is a 2 Megapixel shooter. It can display take images at 4 resolutions and comes with image editing options. The LG Neon comes with a self timer option, 4x zoom capability, brightness and shutter sound controls. The phone also acts as a camcorder but image quality is limited to 320 x 240 maximum resolutions. Neon comes with options for short and long recording and capability to send videos through MMS messaging.

Numerous customization and personal options are featured with the phone. Download wallpapers, display themes and ringtones to make your experience a more personal one. Another added feature is its support for mobile banking. Phone comes standard with an array of games such as Ms. Pac-man and Bubble Bash.

Call quality and voice clarity was excellent. Minimum feedback and noise was noted during calls. Battery life was impressive as tests showed 7 hours talk time over the phones stated three hour talk time.

The LG Neon TE365 is a great buy because of its competitive price coupled with great features. The phone is a looker with its good styling lines and could be an added item to your wardrobe. If you’re looking for a good looking phone with solid messaging features the Neon could reel you in with its bargain price.
