Unlike the LG Rumor 2 and the LG Lotus the LG LX 370 does not concentrate on messaging. It may be like other slider phones but built for messaging and texting, it also comes with some new tricks up its sleeves. It comes with the popular One Click Interface, GPS, and EV-DO features.

The LG LX370 comes in a sleek and slim design measuring 0.63 inches in thickness. The corners are curved and come with a silver finish. It is definitely a smooth and sleek handset. A sudden glimpse gives the impression of a mirror-like surface. Small dotted bumps at the back panel add texture and gives better grip. The LG LX370 is surprisingly light just weighing a measly 4 ounces. The slider mechanism is solidly built and overall quality is excellent.

Viewing is done through a 2-inch display. It supports 262,000 colors and boasts a QVGA resolution. Images and photos are brightly displayed and viewing videos are clear and crisp. User interface comes with animated icons for easier viewing. Customizing the phone allows toggling font size for messaging, browser and notepad.

Just below the screen are the screen-navigation controls. One-click options provide shortcuts for 14 applications or functions. Make navigation easier by assigning shortcut tiles which are also available on the screen navigation interface. Navigation is easy by simply assigning shortcuts for frequently used applications such as messaging, Web Browser, email messaging or the multimedia applications. Phone also makes surfing easier by allowing shortcuts to frequently visited sites like Google. Assign additional details for Google by giving shortcuts to Google Maps, Gmail and YouTube sites. A “bubble” application is also available for even simpler navigation.

Sliding the phone reveals an alphanumeric keypad. Keys are nicely spaced and further separated by clean lines which are slightly raised for easier and faster dialing or text messaging.

You can store up to 600 contacts with each having six phone numbers, two email addresses, a memo, a Web address, and an IM ID. Each contact can be assigned to a group, paired with a photo caller ID, and assigned polyphonic ringtones. Basic phone features include vibrate mode, alarm clock, calendar, world clock, calculator, note pad, SMS and MMS, voice messaging, speakerphone, and unit converter.

The LG LX370 comes with advance features like Web Browsing, Internet Messaging via AIM, Windows Live and Yahoo. Bluetooth, USB-syncing mode, voice command, plus a voice memo recorder also come with the LG LX370. E-mails can be accessed via Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL, and Gmail with POP or IMAP controls.

The LG LX370 is equipped with a 2-megapixel camera found on the phones back panel. Phone shooter allows you to capture images in four resolutions, three quality settings, and four color tones. Other editing options include brightness, white balance, and night mode, and fun frames. Four shutter tones are included but there Flash LED’s are not available. Photo image and colors were disappointing for a phone promising features which are beyond messaging. The LG LX370’s camera also functions like a camcorder with similar image capture settings.

Wallpapers, graphics and alert tones can be personalized. There are also demo games installed but extended plays requires download from the wireless Web browser.

Call quality with the LG LX 370 is very impressive. Voices were loud and clear and listening experience was similar at the end of the line. The speakerphone was below average and did not mirror similar results. For improved listening experience after market headsets could provide better sound quality. Talk time during test posted 5 hours of continuous use before charging.

The LG LX370 is a gorgeous phone which is loaded with features. For users looking for a great messaging phone and provides good overall performance, the LG LX370 could prove to be a good bargain.
