The phone comes with the now familiar QWERTY keyboard which has made composing messages a breeze. The trackball continues to be a popular feature with Blackberry phones; it has made scrolling through the different menus and scrolling down web pages easier.

The Curve 8900 comes with good scores in terms of battery life. The phone could easily be regularly used for two days without the need for recharging. Call quality however is below average and noise and clutter could be heard over the phone at times.
