Some people have too much money. This is pretty much a fact. If anyone out there in cyberspace doubts my words, bear in mind that there are people that shell out thousands of dollars, their first born child, and more for cell phones – or, namely, the Vertu brand of phones. Vertu is the daddy of signature, luxury phones (or momma, depending on how you view it). Either way, if you’re rollin’ in the dough, makin’ that paper, gettin’ that scratch, and other such applicable ways of putting it, you may as well keep reading. If you’re a normal citizen, move on to the next post and/or cry yourself to sleep.
Nokia’s luxury division in Vertu has announced the new model of their flagship phone, the Signature S. They’re finally jumping into the high-speed world of 3G, for one. Sure, they’re a little late to the party, but these phones are hardly about practical features, so I guess criticism on this front is a moot point. At least now those wanting to look great aside their phone don’t have to also put up with sluggish browsing speeds. Also new to the model is WiFi, which is, surprisingly and for the same aforementioned reason, the first time a Vertu phone has offered this compatibility. Other specifications include EDGE, HSDPA on both the 850 and 2100MHz bands, and, oh, a glorious OLED screen display that we must admit we’re pretty high on. Too bad we’ll never be able to touch one of these things.
The design of the new Vertu Signature S was first leaked by the FCC, but Vertu has now dropped the news bomb on their own site. Click here to go ga-ga over the purdy thing. Just try not to drool.
