Before Apple launched its iconic and improved iPhone 3G in June 10th this year, RIM seems never take the iPhone too seriously. One of the strongest indication here is that RIM hasn’t even rumored to work with such full touch screen handset just like what Apple does with its only mobile phone. Later, this turn to be a sort of blunder for this Canadian.
However, based on BGR’s report yesterday, there is still such possibility for RIM to catch up Apple on this race. But then a question suddenly emerge, what horse will RIM use to fight Apple’s iPhone? Blackberry Storm! That’s the answer. And guess who’s the rider? Verizon Wireless, AT&T’s top contender in US.
Storm goes into Technical Acceptance
BGR reported that this CDMA handset has been proceed into technical acceptance (TA) in Verizon. This process is used to take about three to four weeks. The aim for this TA is to make sure that Storm is definitely ready to get into the action directly without major bugs or errors.
The same source also said that RIM together with Verizon have increased the marketing budget for this iPhone’s contender so that it can win people’s mind when they think about a touch screen device.
Launch date and Price information
Previously, IntoMobile told us that Storm will be launched on mid-October this year. However, with this latest rumor, chances are that Verizon will introduce its Blackberry Storm later in November. To date, there is no information about its price or even the price plan. But never mind, this also mean that you may have more time to start saving from now.
