Nokia via its own press release just announced that N96 series will start shipping today and will be available at about EUR 550 ($795.336) before tax and subsidies. Unfortunately, the same source doesn’t even mention what country or region will accept this series first.
So who’s going to be the first?
However, based on Chris Ziegler’s report on Engadget – if true, then the Dutch’s KPN may receive this series earlier than any region on this world.
Nokia N96 series at a glance
As a part of its NSeries line up, Nokia has built N96 with such magnificent technology and features. Especially in term of multimedia. This slider handset comes with 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, 16GB of internal memory with 8GB extra via its microSD card slot, 2.8 inch screen display, live TV using DVB-H technology, listen and track favorite radio station with its built-in RDS.
Nokia also claim that their N96 series will be able to store up to 40 hours of video content transferred from a PC via hi-speed USB 2.0 connection or found online with WLAN and HSDPA support. Cool, this sounds very good for those movie junkies.
For photo or Flickr lovers out there, Nokia N96 could be their perfect gadget since it’s not only has that wonderful 5MP camera, but also a geotag function that can help them to record the photo’s location instantly. And of course, publish those photos directly via their carriers 3G network.
