So neither Best Buy nor AT&T will become US first HTC Touch Diamond and Touch Pro reseller because Sprint has just passed them on. Bravo Sprint! On its press release, which is published today, this US third largest carrier has unveiled the availability of HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro.
HTC Touch Diamond, which most of smartphone watcher said to be the most successful iPhone contender to date, will be priced at $249.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. This TouchFLO 3D-based handset will be available in this September. On the other side, Touch Diamond successor, HTC Touch Pro will be available later in Oct. 19 for $299.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate.
Sprint’s HTC Touch Diamond phone specifications
There is not much change for this smartphone features or specs. Sprint’s HTC Touch Diamond will still be a Windows Mobile-powered smartphone. Complete with its 2.8-inch VGA display, smooth Web experience powered by an Opera browser, a cool 3.2 MP camera/camcorder and stereo Bluetooth technology. But not just that, users will also have a chance to enjoy such easy access to Sprint-exclusive multimedia content, including Sprint Music Store’s quick over-the-air song downloads and Sprint TV with its extensive collection of live and on-demand channels.
However, note that this Touch Diamond series is not quite perfect for business use as stated by Sprint on this press release though. The lack of QWERTY keyboard has made this black candybar smartphone is not match very well with those who are used to text messaging or emailing on its daily activity. So be careful if you found yourself as a heavyweight text messaging user.
Sprint’s HTC Touch Pro phone specifications
The same old specs. Just similar like its predecessor, this slider QWERTY smartphone doesn’t get any extra add on from Sprint. Even Sprint itself said that Touch Pro is just a Touch Diamond with some cool extras such as QWERTY keyboard, expandable storage capabilities with a microSD card slot (1 GB card included) and a business card scanner application to automatically capture and convert business card information to contacts using the built-in 3.2 MP camera. Well, perhaps they forget if HTC has injected it with 512MB ROM that is twice bigger than Touch Diamond series.
