Best Buy to sell unlocked HTC Touch Diamond for $699.99
After securing Apple’s iPhone 3G on its warehouse, Best Buy now jumps to another sophisticated smartphone, HTC Touch Diamond. For this US largest electronic retailer, this move can be considered as a strategy to tackle some US carriers who have planned (or were rumored) to offer this Windows Mobile device with their contract-based offering.
To date, there are no carriers in US whose already sell it officially. What we might really see over the blogs is that those carriers are just planning to sell it in this near time. Sprint for example, will sell this touch screen device for $249,99 with two years contract and $100 rebate. While AT&T, at another side has not even thrown a glimpse to blogosphere such rumor for this Touch Diamond offering. But a discussion on their forum regarding this issue is running quite hot though. US fourth largest carrier, T-Mobile is in the same status like AT&T. Ditto. And finally, Verizon Wireless was only rumored to offer this Touch Diamond too. But again, just a rumor.
HTC Touch Diamond Price on Best Buy
The unlocked version of HTC touch Diamond in Best Buy will cost its customers at $699,99. Note that since Best Buy is just a retailer, sure they can’t sell Touch Diamond with price tag that is lower than those carriers could offer. But still, the big news is that customers now have freedom to choose whatever carriers that fit into them.
For those who really want to buy this Best Buy’s HTC Touch Diamond, please remember that this handset is a quad band GSM one. In other words, you should be careful if you’re the one that love to use service from CDMA-only carrier in your lovely country. Read its full specifications here.
